“I’ve already decided you’re wearing the white plunge-front dress with the ‘hello boys’ bra tonight, but try this on for the drive down. You need to make a spectacular entrance,” Frankie said, thrusting a slinky black dress at me through my half-opened closet door. He eyed my underwear with pursed lips. “If you don’t put on one of the underwear sets I brought over, I’m going to go in there and make you put them on, little miss sensible cotton vegetable-print panties.” He winked and flicked his gaze over my exposed flesh. “At least you used the tanning lotion I gave you.”

I grabbed the dress from his hand and smacked the door closed with my foot, raising my voice to be heard. “Like I had any choice. Paul attacked us with all that junk you’d given him.” Unable to bring myself to tell Frankie I had a housemate named Pussy, I’d settled for pretending his name was Paul. The stylist and veterinary assistant, however, mostly just called him gorgeous. “I’ve been scrubbed, defuzzed, and moisturized in places I didn’t even know existed.”

Frankie sighed, and I could hear the smirk in his voice. “Sounds like a great night.”

I flung the door open and stomped into the room. “No, sadist, it wasn’t.” I scowled at my reflection in the full-length mirror, tugging at the fabric caressing my strong, lean body. Though I had noticed my normally narrow hips had certainly grown since Finn took over the cooking. The black hugged my new curves like a second skin from my throat to my knees. “Remind me why I’m doing this?”

“Because,” Frankie said, adjusting the dress so the seams where straight. “You’re a strong, beautiful, independent woman who deserves to hold her head high and show all the two-bit losers from her past that she’s twice the person they’ll ever be.”

Frankie slipped his fingers under the shoulders of my dress and tightened my bra straps a little, smacking his lips in satisfaction at his own handiwork. I couldn’t deny that the dress looked pretty good with the underwear he had chosen for me. The thick, stretchy, skin-tight fabric showed off my toned, athletic figure, and the black looked great against my bronzed skin and freshly washed waves. I turned to one side and stared at my reflection. “Not bad,” I admitted. I ran my hands over my hips. “All it needs is—”

“If you say pockets, I’m going to make you wear the pink lycra miniskirt,” Frankie threatened.

“All it needs is shoes and a purse.” I grinned at Frankie and slipped my feet into the nude stilettos with the red soles he had somehow got his mitts on for me to borrow. I perched on the edge of my bed and tilted my face toward the ceiling. “I’m ready for my makeup, guru. Let’s get this shit show on the road.”

Frankie stuck his tongue out at me and started to smear my face with primer. “You do realize you’re getting ready to go on a mysterious getaway with three mouth-wateringly handsome men, right?”

“Ha,” I snorted.
